Guess the spot: Utah Edition

I think you are correct. If I had to guess the water hole, i'd say Rock Point Reservoir.
If this is indeed the location then it goes to @regehr because I wouldn't have found it without his initial guess.
That's exactly it, Rock Point Reservoir seen from the Big Hollow benchmark. Take it away, whoever. :)

Also, the Awapa Plateau is pretty neat. Fairly high in elevation but pretty barren of trees. I'd highly recommend exploring that area--I only spent an afternoon there and really wanna go back now.

I never ever heard of the Awapa plateau until now!!

I have no idea. But there is water, tall conifers, yellow layered stone: Ashdown Gorge? I, have never been here, obviously.

well, I was thinking this spot was popular enough that someone would know it. I checked and I don't have any photos from this day trip that would give a wider view. it's a set of vehicle-accessible waterfalls in the western Uintas, a really nice location, it's a place y'all should know about if you don't.

With your most recent hints and the 2nd photo, I'd say this is Cataract Gorge with the 2nd photo being Little Deer Creek Falls.

yes, you got it!
I had never been to this spot until a few weeks ago and it's totally lovely, was surprised to have it to myself

I'm continued to be amazed at all the beauty of Utah. That looks like a fun place to spend a day.

Can you name the primary canyon in this photo? There are a couple of others that converge into the main canyon, so if you happen to name those instead, i'll give it to you.

At first glance- Arch Canyon. Sober second thought- I'll still go with that.

well it's got a very zion vibe. I don't specifically recognize this but my WAG is that this is between the Wildcat Trailhead and where you'd drop into the Subway
