The cat in my photo above (Theo) was feral. You can barely make out where his left ear has been clipped, which is what the rescue groups do when they catch them so they know the cat's been fixed before they release them. But Theo was so friendly the rescue place took him in for adoption, and a friend adopted him. Like a lot of us here, he hates being indoors, so my friend lets him roam during the day (it's a very safe area with no traffic) but he goes in at night. He came from a rescue in eastern Colorado (we're on the other side of the state).

I stayed with the friend who adopted Theo for a few weeks once and got to know the cat well, then I ended up renting a place a few blocks away. I don't know how, but Theo figured out where I live and sometimes comes over for Fancy Feast, then I take him home and put him inside. He comes and sits by my patio door until the dogs notice him, then comes inside just long enough to eat. He's getting rather portly, eating at both places. :)

Been a long time since I posted anything. I’m sitting in the background at a family dinner so it seems like a good time to do so.

Made a clockwise walk of the Clyde Lake loop on Friday. I included a side trip up to Three Lakes Divide for a peek into the middle fork of Weber Canyon. Surprised I could still get up there.

Maybe not now? the snow situation has hopefully deepened.
Where did you start from? and good to hear from you.

Made the one mile mark for the first time this afternoon on my walk to F Street and back home. 1.04 miles roundtrip! Knee is still pretty sore and swollen, but progress.

And check out all the flowers that are blooming in Salt Lake in December; all seen on my walk today.

It's springtime out there to the north?
If this goes too much more, maybe I will have to turn back on my sprinklers... :p

1 mile is great progress!

@scatman Funny thing... this came up in my google photos.
The AI does not see it as a daring rescue out of frigid waters instead:

:roflmao:

After hiking with a climber for two weeks we ended up yesterday getting “encouraged” to try something a little out of our comfort zone.

Early on, normal terrain for us, just gorgeous and it’s a lot of fun. Our local friend took this photo:

This is the route to the summit, most of the rock scramble is out of sight behind the slab in the middle

Rick scrambling up, nothing we haven’t done before

Part way up, looking back down. Most boulders are out of sight

Before this spot both guys made a stop to get bandaged up. Here’s Rick ascending with our friends ahead

It was a solid climb, but we had fun and we had no issues! Then our friend, aka the climber announced we were past “all the difficult stuff” and within 4 mins he disappeared up an exposed fin to summit the peak. I was behind after digging out my poles. Once I got up on the fin, I looked at the narrow exposed fin….wait….. what? Uh…No! “But it’s 8 feet wide, I heard”. Sure…. :roflmao:

Rick took this photo, I didn’t make it that far. It plummets off to the right. Why can I not do that ?

My view after I backed off:

Rick discovered a granite chair, our friends are descending

Our friend, the climber descending the easy stuff. He’s 78 and our hero. If we will be as active at that age, as he is now, we will be thrilled!
IMG_8485_Original.jpeg

Oh well, defeated I guess, but the climb was really fun!

And then… two Hungarian guys appeared out of nowhere and they practically ran up the fin to the summit, wow…. No packs, no water.
On the return they obviously caught up with us and we watched them jump from one boulder to the next on their way down. The speed was mind boggling. They were down quickly.

The four of us descending, the exposed fin is just to the right of Rick. Photo taken by our local friend.
Most of the boulder scramble is hidden-again in this photo. We had a fabulous day.
