Album The dogs of backcountrypost.com

Little dog Luna just as happy running across solid water as diving into the liquid state. At 10,300' in the Uintas yesterday. I walked across the lake - it was frozen hard. There was only 2-3" of snow however on this pretty day at the end of our never ending autumn after our never ending summer. Snowing hard here at 6,600' tonight.

Hi there, I'm still pretty new here, but thought I'd post a pic of my pups.

This is my 7-year old border collie, Winston, on a hike with me a few weeks ago in the Pintler Mountains. I don't know if all border collies are like her, but she absolutely LOVES the snow!

And, here is the newest member of our family, Digger, an Australian Sheppard/Border Collie mix. We just got him a few weeks ago, so he hasn't gone hiking with me yet, but I hope to change that soon.

Hi MikeM, welcome.
Every border collie I have had has loved the snow too. One of them hated to get cold feet in his older years so he didn't want to stay out long or he would start picking his feet up in random order :)

Spring 2016. Our three oldest pups are another year older this time of year. Teak is turning 7, Nikita is 14 and Patina turns 8. That's right, 14 years now for Nikita! The doggy dementia and the arthritis in her spine is making life pretty tough for her lately, but the warmth of spring seems to help. I figured a group shot was overdue. Happy birthdays, kids.
