This photo was taken with a Canon 6D, but I've been using a Canon G7 X Mark II a lot more lately.

In August of 2016 I had the great pleasure of seeing Gannett Peak for the first time from Fremont peak in the beautiful wind river range. It has been calling me ever since.


In July of 2018 I had the great pleasure of answering the call of Gannett Peak and looking back from Gannett to the glorious view of Fremont peak.

The summit view from Raid Peak in the central Wind Rivers. This view looks north. Bonneville and Pronghorn with it's awesome Antelope Arete promintently facing right are two major peaks in the view. Raid is on the East Fork and the distant lakes, Middle and Bewmark, are in the Middle Fork.

The view of the Middle Fork from the other direction with Bonneville Peak in the background. This view complements the previous post by looking south with Raid, the one I had been standing on taking that picture just visible to the right of Bonneville in the far background. I built this image for a TR here: "Wind Rivers X'ing P1 and P2" The image composite shows the climbs I had done in the Middle Fork over the years. Enjoy! I sure did...

In August of 2018 I had the great pleasure of looking back at Gannett Peak from the summit of Fremont peak. It looked even more spectacular having just been on top of it a couple of weeks ago!

How did you find the climb? South face?

Thanks Artemus! Just went up the standard route on the west side from Indian basin. This was my second time. Love the climb and the views! Nothing technical like the south or north routes.

In September of 2018 I finally had the great pleasure of hitting the Broad fork twins for the first time. We enjoyed the it from the Robinson Variation.
