Guess the spot

These are the aptly-named Bull's Horns on Dome Peak. The right horn goes at III 5.9 and I have not climbed it. This view is from the New Fork trail standing in very impressive New Fork Park.

Looks like an awesome area! Did you access that one from the Narrows Campground?

I'll draw out my route for you when I get a moment.
i'll be waiting.
Well it look like it was on the east side. Starting at the East Rosebud Reservoir trailhead. It was a first backpack date with Beck so I was pretty distracted but I am sure my ulterior motive was to follow one of the standard climbing approaches for scouting purposes. We didn't get very far for several unanticipated and private reasons...

IMG_0657.JPG Either give me the name of this building or name the area. And because I realize there are lots of old broken down cabins all over the place, I'll throw in this shot looking back at the road leading to the trail to get to the building.

One of the tie-hack cabins on the north slope of the Uintas - say the Black's Fork of the Bear?

Reminds me of the East Fork Bear River looking south up into the drainage before getting to the trailhead. But the amount of rock on that peak makes me think maybe it's not the Uintas at all?

It is not in the Uintas.

A hint. It was carried by water from its original location to where it is currently.

I thought so too from that cliff but Black's Fork does have that one anomalous cliff halfway up the the trailhead on the east side.

Two more hints. The cabin is in Montana and it reached its current location in 1959.

I'm guessing it got moved somehow in the earthquake or flooding around Quake Lake and the Madison?
Yep! It's called the Crooked Cabin and it's on the far Eastern edge of the lake, along with several others a ways upstream. My grandparents used to take us there often. I love that area of Montana around the Madison.

This picture of the inside really explains its name. I believe it has collapsed by now.
