Another clue - there's a "town" just to the left of the photo. And now I'm out of clues.
No, you guys are WAY too far west. But that's actually a reasonable guess, given what you're seeing there - an ancient lake bed that stretches a long way (the Western Interior Seaway).
@Michael, where I was can only be accessed by driving across the Dolores River crossing, which is impassible much of the year, or coming around through Glade Park on the Grand Junction, CO side. It's called the Dolores Triangle and is pretty empty because of the difficult access, though more people are going in there. It has a wonderful feeling of isolation. There are some You Tubes of crossing the Dolores that are fun, but I came in the other way - was doing some geological mapping in October a few years ago. It's actually one of my fav places. Lots of rattlers, though.
