Haha I hadn't looked through that report, your message prompted me to though. It was screaming familiarity to me but I was struggling with the actual where. It's not like I've spent much time at all in the Valley of the Gods.

Yep! Tis Hellroaring. I've seen those rock formations called something before as well but I'm having trouble remembering. Dublinki Towers?
 
Not the Books. The mountains on the horizon actually have their own name. The cottonwoods in the foreground ought to be a good clue.
 
The cottonwoods are a hint of the water running through this canyon, but not its name. So far we have running water, not exactly in the Book Cliffs (but close), and the range in the distance has its own name (which I didn't even know until I looked at it on a map this morning).
 
I've got virtually 0 experience in the area, but here's a WAG after spending too much time on CalTopo and Google Earth. Is the range the McPherson Range? And was the photo taken along Range Creek near its confluence with the Green?
