This looks sooo familiar, but I can't quite place it. And there's about a zillion places that look just like this. I'll throw out a wild guess and say Horseshoe Canyon?

I don't think that I have ever actually seen Mexican Mountain! My lucky guess was based on your clues combined with a look at a map, and the google. Let's try this one:
