Guess the spot: Utah Edition

There must be a story that goes with those chairs. Do you know it?

It probably has to do with a cartel and a casino heist during a bachelor party.
The roughs from the cartel tore a couple of chairs from the floor, drove out into the desert, and the groom to be woke up with a bad headache, roasting in the sun, wearing someone else's boxer briefs, tied to the chair, and a bengal tiger sitting on the other chair, contemplating what part to eat first... :)

Otherwise, I am not at liberty to say.

Haha, No, I do not know the story.

Strange thing is, they seem old, and no other reports of this place even mentioned the chairs. They are visible if someone is up high of course, but they are not really by any trail or frequented area. So I assume, people rarely see the chairs.
They are heavy, old school arm chairs, bolted to plywood.
Also it looked like there was either the remains of concrete on the plywood or some quick-crete applied to try and keep them upright in the wind. Hauling them up, regardless of the concrete did not seem an easy endeavor.
There was also a little end table between them, but the top of that table was nowhere to be found.

And No,
I did not sit on them, that's gross. I did not want a rusty spring in my butt.

So intriguing. Thanks for the report! (And great imagination with your story... :))

Judging from the salt flats in the distance, and the apparent rock quarry in the foreground, I would guess Lakeside. But I can't line the mountains in the background up with anything near Lakeside. I've even been to Lakeside but not really off the beaten path enough to have seen these chairs.

Nope, not Lakeside. Go west.

I'm guessing you took a quick trip to Wendover after you completed this trip. :)

I've never been there but am looking at the map (procrastinating on other stuff I need to do) and am wondering if it's Crater Island / Silver Island Mountains.

We stopped in before... It seemed the chairs had been taken from one of the casinos once on a time.

Crater Island is too far north- there are a couple things along there of interest, but the bumpy road wears on you long before you get to Crater.

Silver Island is the mountain range. The actual place is Floating Island. The chairs are up on the east side, watching the Newfs, the bottom edge of the Air Force Range and facing sunrise.

You're up.

Without the Lakeside guess and reply, I never would have gotten it. But I'll offer a photo anyway.

Look at that worried face - where is it? IMG_2356.jpg

Well- not familiar area, searched for High peaks in Utah here:

One of those Peaks seems to match your photo, and that's Hayden Peak.
