Guess the spot: Utah Edition

Yeah, they also kind of remind me of the area between Boulder and Escalante, but again, I've only been in a small portion of that area. And the red sandstone down lower throws me. Maybe something near Deer Creek?

Looks a lot like the Zion area, but I'm so far out of my league on most of the Colorado Plateau posts in this thread now that, as always, I have absolutely no idea on a specific guess.
I was thinking the same thing but the peaks in the background were not registering

Good catch on the sandstone down low, Jackson. You both are in the right part of the Co Plateau when you say Zion area, as in that the red sandstone is oddly vertically eroded Kayenta. Like Zion, this location lacks any Wingate below the Kayenta. Beneath the ground level is moenave/chinle. ie: vermillion cliffs. Thus not Escalante Deer Creek, even though the Navajo Domes are reminiscent of that area between Boulder and Deer Creeks on the Brigham Tea Bench. Giant hint: you have the right name!

Next hint: The canyon is a trib of this greater canyon:

it’s been a long day, I’m getting snoozy and my answer probably makes no sense (have not gone through all the hints) but the last photos look similar to the Upper Paria area where you posted photos from some months ago. Same name that @Jackson mentioned? How about Deer Creek canyon, upper Paria? If yes, pls let @Jackson take this one, since I didn’t contribute any work or ideas this time...

well it's not a super Zionish photo overall but there are parts of Clear Creek that look a lot like this.

It's in a national park (or within probably 1/4 mile of the boundary if not), but that park isn't Zion.

hmm... Sheets? I know one of those has a section or two that looks like this but I can't remember which!

Even closer, but this canyon is just a little farther north still. I think Sheets does have a few sections like this though, in your defense.

The higher portions of this canyon are technical, and that's why I never went terribly far up it.

Cottonwood Wash ?
Haha the list of possibilities grows smaller and smaller. Extremely close. Sorry, I'd put up another photo from the canyon if I had access to my photos right now. The canyon is named after a type of animal.

I was gonna guess somewhere below the orange cliffs looking toward the Maze, though I've never been south of the China Neck. This would be south of there?

@SteveR - no, it’s NOT the circle cliffs inside GSENM or Capitol reef.
@John Morrow - no, it’s NOT inside any of the Canyonlands areas/units.

Its on a day hike, not too far from a big well known river.
