OK, Langdon this is one of my favorite cirques because of the unusual shape/position and the lake filling the basin. When I first saw it in person I was thinking "meteor strike". I am looking for the lake name in the center but will take any feature name in the "map".

Yes it is a lake called Crater in the western High Uintas very near the Highline Trail. I am trying to moderate my lake ambivalence, trying to move into the mainstream

Gotta be Boulder-WhiteClouds area. Looks like something off the Slate Creek - Ocalkens - Iron Basin - Swimm Lake area. But I'm not finding this exact spot yet. The little plateau (If it is one) should help.

ETA: On the other hand, it also looks like places I've been in Yellowstone, and SE Idaho too.... So I'm not so sure anymore about my original instinct. I'll keep musing/hunting.
