Guess the spot: Maps Edition

You got it. It is the also the site of a controversial, newly-bulldozed ATV trail going up the mountain. You're up.
Are you referring to the old mining track coming down off Cedar Mountain? I haven't heard of any recent controversy, but that's the only trail I can think of that goes up the mountain (though it's many decades old).

The one right there at Chimney Rock. That the one you are thinking of? It was impassable to any wheeled vehicle until they bulldozed it 4-5 years ago.

Time for a clue: there's allegedly 97 switchbacks on the east side approach.
Holy cow. I have never, ever walked 97 constructed switchbacks. I wouldn't want to. :) The peak/ridge being near 14K feet it ain't Utah, nor Wyoming, nor Arizona or Idaho. I am going with an East Side High Sierra trail. I know, not very specific but it is the best I can do. Good puzzle.

mt whitney
Haha Ben! Close. The peak is Mt Muir. No wonder I never saw those switchbacks before. When I did Mt. Whitney I only had one switchback.. straight up the east ridge.

Oh, now I see that Ben answered the question. You're up Mr. Cowan!
