I was supposed to be rafting Westwater this weekend but the snow and 45 mph winds in the forecast scared us away. At the last minute, a couple of us decided to salvage what we could and did a day and a half trip down to the Swell. We walked Cottonwood Canyon yesterday and to the top of the reef today. Spectacular.

3/17- Dead Horse Point State Park

We had a night sky program and I don't go home after those if I can help it. Snowstorm coming and cows... it was the right choice.

Finally got one!

Finally picked one up also. Snow machined with wife and kids into a BLM cabin in the White Mountains NE of Fairbanks. I'll post a couple pics when my laptop is fixed.

March 17-23 18 Road Fruita, CO 6 nights

This was glamping mountain biking trip. It may not be a tent but I am counting it because I have built Moxie. This was the coldest weather I have ever slept in, I think except maybe YNP last year. Moxie maybe somewhat insulated but it still took long-johns, 2 sleeping bags (one rated 15 stuffed inside the other rated 0) 2 wool blankets, 2 normal blankets to stay warm the first two night. Temps were mid to low 20's. I was happy it warmed up to mid 30's later in the week at night and I think high 40's the last night I stayed. Crazy how just a few degrees can make a world of difference.

This is also the first 9 day vacation I have taken without kids since I went to China in 2007. Admittedly I sincerely missed them, but neither of them wanted to go. I see many more trips like this in my future.

I mountain biked 5 out of the 6 days in Fruita and slept on the snowy day. My last day it started raining around 5pm and never quit until well after I had left town Friday morning.

The other 3 nights I spent with family tucked in a cozy bed in Syracuse hanging out with my niece, having sushi, and going for one last ride before driving home in a snowstorm.

I would love to say I am going to post a report but I am too lazy to pull my computer out and really type a report up. Besides I just biked at slow leisurely pace.

I spent two nights out at Toroweap with my wife this weekend. We had already spent a night in St. George and 4 nights in Las Vegas for a work conference so it was particularly nice to get away from all the hoopla for a bit. We also happened to run into @pixie1339 out there too! Great seeing you, Lisa!
