Total: 26 Nights

Did a reverse relay with my wife a couple weeks ago. I went out on another solo overnighter from one trailhead to another. She and the kids met me at the destination trailhead where I took the kids home while she hiked up to get her own solo night and finished out at my starting trailhead to bring my car home.

Got in a little get away vacation with the family before school starts for the kids this week. Stayed 3 nights at Kodachrome State Park and had some fun hiking and seeing the sights in parts of GSENM and Bryce Canyon NP. Finished out the trip with another night at the in-laws in Torrey. So many great memories were made with the family on this last trip. And so many summer trip reports to catch up on now....uhhh...:help::)

March 19 - April 19 Washington and Canada Roadtrip (31 nights)

April 26 - May 15 Oregon Road Trip (19 nights)

June 2-10 PCT Hike and Washington to Idaho Road Trip (8 nights)

June 13-15 Travel from Idaho to SLC UT (2 nights)

June 18-28 Colorado Trail Section Hike, Road Trip to Ft Collins CO (9 nights)

July 1-3 Roadtrip back to Idaho (2 nights)

July 5-16 Wyoming, truck camping (11 nights)

July 21-28 Uinta Highline Trail and pre-hike camp in truck (7 nights)

August 9-11 Backpacking trip Bighorn Mtns (2 nights)

August 11-19 Wyoming truck camping (9 nights)

There will be more but I think that puts me at 100 nights camping/truck camping by the end of next week. I still have another 7 days in the Wind River Range from August 20-26 with a couple of truck nights before and after. So by the time I am finished with the season I'm guessing I'll be around 110nights. Am I close to being the winner yet?

I have lots of really big photos and @Artemus said he'd help me figure out what's wrong, but he's off galavanting on Electric Peak. Never had any problems until the upgrade. (They're actually billboard size.)

ETA: But what I'm wondering more than anything about bag nights, is if Artemus will come back wearing a kilt...

It says sleeping in your car counts in the OP...so I'm counting all of mine since most of them are road trips and backcountry exploration

My blog posts up until end of April for proof. I am very behind in my blog:

Just stay tuned on that...

For anyone keeping track of us, we are now out of the YNP wilderness after a successful climb of Electric Peak.

w00t!

And boy do we have stories. @scatman will be writing up a full TR but suffice it to stay that camped up high last night with a bear in camp mulling over whether the park service was going to evac us after closing our ending trailhead due to the Bacon Rind fire was just the beginning.

Damn living the dream!

I've never looked at bag nights as anything but a challenge for myself. If you got to sleep outside, you've already won!

Ha ha. It can be tough sometimes. I've done some of it out of necessity but mostly trying to make the most of my last months in the US before moving back to the UK. I doubt I'll see anywhere near as many bag nights after that.

Will you take them and your cat back to the UK with you?

Of course, although I don't have the cat anymore. I would never leave my dogs behind although it's costing me twice as much to ship them one way than what it cost me for a return flight (cheaper to buy than a one way ticket) for myself in premium economy....and they don't even get TV or free alcohol.
