CLASSIC @scatman  . That sign is exactly meant for you! Are the snakes out yet?

No, I haven't seen any snakes yet this spring. I heard rumor that one was prancing around the foothills here, all decked out in orange, but I never saw it. :) I did see two rattlesnakes on Mount Wire and one on Grandeur Peak last April, so in another couple of weeks I'm guessing that they'll start popping their heads out.

Needed to get on some kind of trail so I headed out in the area on a brisk but beautiful Friday afternoon. I normally shoot video with my GoPro Hero 8 Black but thought I'd give the Sony RX100mVII a go. Seemed to shoot pretty nice video although not stabilized. I tried to lessen that a bit in post.

It's short, just for fun:

A wonderful hike to the top of Black Mountain Ridge earlier today with Scatwoman.

On our way back down, on top of the southern summit of the Avenues Twin Peaks. Black Mountain is over my right shoulder.

Great day to be out there! Were the trails up there busy?

They weren't too bad. We saw probably between 20 - 25 people either trail running or hiking, though when returning to the trailhead, we did see a lot of mountain bikers along the Shoreline Trail.

Thought this thread was as good a place to post as anywhere else.

Warning -- Poor quality cell phone pics.

I had some time for a little mushroom hunting in the woods today. At one point it felt like someone (or something) was watching me. It took a minute to detect what was gazing my way. . . then it took another minute to try and figure out what it was.

Normally I am not a selfie guy, but I could not resist a photo with stump baby. Oh, sorry about the hair -- you know, quarantine and all. :p

As for mushroom hunting I think I am a couple days too early. Not a complete loss though as I found a couple to fry up with my eggs tomorrow morning. I always look forward to Morel season!
