I don’t recall the sausage, although I wasn’t paying close attention to your food. I only remember the big gallon ziplock of candy. Probably because I also have a sweet tooth. I also remember you had recently gotten dental work.. which I think subconsciously reinforced the candy image.

Funny, but that jogs my memory - I met a guy on the trail up in the Sawtooths who had a big sack of candy and a couple of bears following him.

Here's another from the San Juan last week. My wife was pretty weary about floating rivers, especially whitewater. The San Juan was her first big trip. I'd say she did pretty good.

May 17-21. We were at Slickhorn the night of the 19th. What an incredible canyon. I wish I could have hiked further up.
