A tribute to mules???? A shrine??? Did that big block fall on some poor mule?

Or is that a bucket of molasses next to the picture? Hmm, a mule trap?

Nice try, but we mules are a "smarter than that" bunch. (Where exacty is this? Asking for a friend.)

Nice looking mule, BTW

ROTFLM-M-O (M = mule not ass) ...can't breathe...I need a copy of this to prove I really do get out in the backcountry.

That's not a block, that is an old log.

No molasses, just some rocks to stand you up. You were a bit tipsy that day if I remember correctly.

A little bird whispered in my ear that it might be approaching the headwaters of Thorofare Creek. Just beyond the second ridge that plunges to the valley is the way to Majo Pass, which is a story in its own right - at least that is what a friend told me. :)

Damn fine looking mule.

Well, being a bit tipsy as a mule is nothing like when you're a human (so I think) because you have four legs, not two. Of course, when you do bite it, it's much more dangerous to those nearby.

Am I still out there (one can hope)?

Nice Photo of all of you at the ranger cabin. Gosh do miss that country. Have to get back in there again sometime soon.

"Nice, Hugh, nice."

You encourage him? Man...no words...

Of course they encourage me. I think I might have been promised a Cold Smoke for that one. :D

Hey Skipper, what camera(s) should I take on Thursday's big adventure? And what tent? And what sleeping bag?

Take the new Canon R5 (like the one @TractorDoc has). For a tent, you can borrow my Springbar Outfitter, and I just ordered a new sleeping bag from the REI sale and you can pick it up at the store - it's the Marmot Never Summer. And you'll also want a memory foam mattress. And Jelly Bellies.

Of course, with all this gear you'll need a mule...not to always go there, but it's just how things get done, packs get packed, backcountry gets explored, etc. - with mules.

Wait! You're going out again already?
