Before: Heading out to Cedar Mesa tomorrow. Going for 5 nights from Government Trail to Green Mask. Out and back, maybe come out through
Polly's Canyon...we'll see.

After: Tom and myself after a short but tough climb out of the Gulch to top of the Government Trail on a half a Pay Day and a sip of water. Great trip!

Before: heading out on Tuesday for six days, five nights, in the central San Rafael Swell. I'm not sure how much of this I'll manage to actually visit.

After: I didn't get as much hiking done as I'd have liked, but I had a lot of fun Jeeping from Swasey's Cabin, through Eagle Canyon, and out Secret Mesa.

Before: I'm hiking the BMT this weekend with the heaviest luxury item I've carried. My fat baby: 25lbs! Thank god for the Osprey Poco AG Plus. We'll see how it goes, but I'm hoping this opens up some more opportunities for the season.

Yep. Wife will be carrying her stuff, but I'll have all my stuff.

We're doing it as an overnight, so I think we'll stay at Mamie, little closer to half way.

That was... Heavy. Holy shit though, the BMT blew away all of my expectations. World Class, definitely worth a return visit. Will give it more time than 1 night next time.

No before but after I went to do an overnighter in the Pine Valley Wilderness Area. It was supposed to be a loop involving Whipple Valley over to Browns Point but snow south of South Valley would've been miserable to hike especially with how out of shape Iam and how the elevation was affecting me.

I neglected the before but here is the after: last Monday I had the opportunity to day hike the beautiful Zion Narrows 16 miles from top to bottom with my dad who just turned 73. Here are a few shots from our adventure.

After: Tried to get up to Ben Lomond and Willard Peak via Cutler Basin Trail this morning. Turned back near the saddle due to too much snow and no spikes

Heading out in the morning for a day hike along what I'm calling the Mirror Lake-Highline Loop. Taking the Duchesne River Trail to the East Fork Duchesne River Trail, then hopping on the Highline to the Mirror Lake Trail and back. Looking like 14'ish miles.

Before:

Heading out in the morning for a day hike along what I'm calling the Mirror Lake-Highline Loop. Taking the Duchesne River Trail to the East Fork Duchesne River Trail, then hopping on the Highline to the Mirror Lake Trail and back. Looking like 14'ish miles.

After: it was a very interesting day. A new personal best for me for mileage. I'll get a trip report up soon... meanwhile this is how it started...
