The Before/After thread

Before: North Fork Park hiking/snowshoeing. Mules Ear trail today.

After:

Wasn't able to do the whole loop. Too much snow on a couple of exposed slopes. Decided to play it safe today and turn back until the avalanche conditions improve.

Some impressive snow!

Before: Headed out to camp near Capitol Reef tonight with some hiking tomorrow. I've been very intently watching the weather forecasts, as it looks likely to rain a little down there. No one has forecast a lot of rain, so I've got my fingers crossed. If only I had gone yesterday or the day before. 70 degrees and sunny down there...

BEFORE: Heading out for some 'shoeing on the Lily Lake trail system at the north gate on the Mirror Lake Hwy.

Man I'm bad at the before thing. Here's an after.

Got an early start on Spring Break, so I went with a friend in search of rock art in northeast Tooele County today. Our expectations were exceeded. TR soon.

Before
Going down the Green through Stillwater Canyon in 2 weeks. Canoe, cooler and myself. I will have 4 days, which will be nice, hikes etc. Maybe visit the Dollhouse.

Okay maybe someday I will figure out how to be done packing for a trip at 10pm instead of 1AM.... headed to Canyonlands/Moab for a quick one nighter, Saturday to Sunday on Jug Handle Loop.

My goal this trip everything on the bike! Nothing on my back. 4.5L water and all my gear.

Bought a bunch of fun goodies for this trip. Excited to try them out. Borrowed an Apidura front roll from a friend.

Leaving tomorrow at 4am to get to Moab for the drop off at Mineral Bottom. This float I will have 3 1/2 days to do the 50 miles, not 2 1/2 like the previous trips. The river is higher and faster, by far, than any other trip. I will have lot's to see out of the boat which I am looking forward to.

After.
A great trip. This shot is from Powell Camp, with the confluence with the Colorado in the distance. This is the first place on a river trip that I have stayed more than 1 day. It was a great spot.

Before: Venturing out on a Spring Break road trip with the family tomorrow through the end of the week. Plan to do some camping and hiking along the way in areas that include Valley of Fire SP, Joshua Tree NP, Cuyamaca SP, & Lee's Ferry.

Before: heading up to Malan's Peak and maybe in to Malan's Basin if the snow is not too bad.

After:

It rained, sleeted and snowed just about all day. Once again I did this peak in marginal weather.
