I just witnessed the most epic sunrise I've ever seen, and I almost missed it because I decided to get coffee and eat breakfast instead of going to shoot. Fortunately I brought my camera gear with me, so I was able to drop everything and run when I saw the sky start to do this:
Got out this past weekend and hoofed it around just outside of Mt. Assiniboine park from the BC side. Snowing all around me along the trail until I cozied up along the Simpson River then got a bit of a show.. just a bit though. That's Octopus mountain in the background.
It seems wrong to post this picture on a backcountry website since the picture was taken near the Jacksonville Florida airport. But the rules were "favorite sunrises" and I do like this one.
