Album Sunrises

I went out to see the annual Sandhill Crane migration in the central Platte River valley in Nebraska a couple weeks ago. It was a little early for the cranes. There were a lot but not the usual zillions. Although I didn't get to see zillions of cranes I did get to see a wonderful sunrise.

Took a quick shot of the sunrise over St. George, UT from the hotel balcony before heading to the airport on Tue. I wish I had time to try and take a nicer shot.

really great images in this thread! Seems like the light is a bit better on a regular basis in the desert than up here in the PNW. Sometimes you do get lucky though. This is from 2012.

I have to admit that I'm probably the only one who goes to Mesa Arch for sunrise and never takes a single picture of it.
After I saw the circus out there next to the arch I decided to find my own special spot and that's what I ended up with.
Love it way more than the typical Mesa Arch shot

If there's an arch on NPS land with reasonable vehicle access... a three-ring circus is a guarantee. Unless you go on a weekday in January. Maybe.
