We had an intense 15 minutes of thundersnow yesterday afternoon, but it didn't stick much, and the 60 cm of snow in our backyard is almost gone. By my count we are headed into "fourth spring" here in Calgary.

The melting snow appears to be making the route through Dark Canyon quite tricky for hikers at the moment; however, for packrafters, it's a different story!

I was down in Dark the last few days and the raging muddy "river" made crossings impossible except in a few places at certain times of day. Threw a wrench in my plans. Of course, I spotted the elusive legend Joey across the river headed for a sketchy ledge above a churning waterfall.
