This was the temp in the tent in the morning.
Without the wind it felt downright balmy compared to right after a dinner of cuban sliders and ham bean soup.

Snowed on and off, but got a little sun at times on the way out.

Love the snow on red rock!
Some pix from a very springlike last week.
Groomed trails higher in the mountains were in great shape!:

Shallow new snow and a supportive snowpack meant excellent conditions for meadow wandering on skinny skis:

Spring touring time in the backcountry is here, with warmer weather, easy travel, and generally more stable and predictable avalanche hazards:

It's the time of year to get up high.

The turns in the alpine were only OK, but I heard no complaints.
