This is a 70 Image stack taken from the cabin we rented. A special thanks to the passing cars for the light painting.

Originally I wanted the D800, but I needed a new camera immediately and couldn't wait for months prior to my trip.
And now I'm really happy with the D7000 and still learning about all the features.
But it's an awesome camera for night shots. :)
Same here. For 1/3 the price the D7000 is more than enough camera for my skill level. I'll look at a D800 in a couple of years.
 
Dang... There are some GOOD photogs on this forum. So many great night shots in this thread, too many to choose favorites.

I need to just hang out around here and try to soak up tips, pointers or random crumbs of wisdom.

Here's a couple of mine - weak sauce for sure. Never have tried star trails, one of these nights I'll have to try and stay up and give it a shot. Anyway, both of these were full or near full moon nights, one from the Doll House and the other from Butler Wash.
