@Rockskipper I wish I had that many miles on the rails. But there is a strong connection to hopping freights and backpacking, but it's sort of roundabout.

So here's the next one. I need to move more pictures over to this computer.

ID the creek, the ridge on the back left, or the peak on the right.

Most, if any, rails wouldn't take you to any of these spots, which is probably a good thing.

This reminds me of Togwotee Pass, though not quite.

Same ponds, different vantage point. The high point is not in this second image. Ignore the young lass in the lower right of this shot. Could be a young @Rockskipper minus the Gucci t-shirt. Not sure where the pack of dogs went though.
