I walked right by that in summer 2019 and still didn't recognize it. Haha. Camped probably a quarter mile to the east of it that evening. Wild. I'll have one in a bit.

It's easy to miss a small pond in between places as spectacular as Grave Lake and Ranger Park.

For sure. It was getting to be late afternoon/early evening, and we were getting tired by then, so we tended to ignore most stuff that wasn't a flat clearing where we could drop our packs and set up camp. Haha. I think the amount of rocks around that pond must have led us to conclude it wasn't going to work as a camp site.

I guess there are two peaks, so I'm talking about the one that's more to the left.

This may be a bit obscure so I'll start with a hint. I drove less than an hour from my house in Belgrade to get to the trailhead for this ski outing.
 
Now is this Gallatin Peak in the Spanish Peaks area?
