Guess the spot

Anybody seen @Rockskipper ? She seems MIA in 2018....
Wow, I just checked in for the first time in ages and saw Art and Cuberant's alerts. I've been camped in Death Valley, trying to get a headstart on the bag night count. I've been wondering what adventures you've all been up to.

must.go.back.out.soon.

This spot reminds me of that country up above Flaming Gorge.

This strikes me as possibly in Mesa Verde NP area?

Now I was in Mesa Verde this past fall. Camped there for a half of a week. Interesting in how much of the park has been burned recently like your photo shows and is scrub brush.

Correct! It's Mesa Verde on the Wetherill side. It is pretty bare there from fires. You're up @Kmatjhwy

Now Jmr since I saw this photo, because of the noticeable burn, wondered if this was in Mesa Verde or closeby. But I thought wouldn't guess because I was just up and let the game play.

Here's the next one .... can you guess the peak?

Sure is perty. Above treeline but seems low in elevation for some reason. I am guessing Alaska.

No this peak is not up in Alaska. Now will give a hint ... this is in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in the Rockies.

Also this photo was taken in early July. It is a Mountain Paradise in my opinion.

Absarokanut, You are Correct! Now you are up! Go for it!

This photo was taken from the nearby slopes of Thorofare Mtn. right to the east of Younts Peak. The west slopes of Younts Peak is grassy slopes where one can ride a horse to the top. But the east side of Younts Peak is cliffs, and here among the cliffs are some lingering icefields. And it is an excellent spot to see grizzlies. Younts Peak is a known Cutworm Moth site which grizzlies love. About everytime I have been here thru the years, have seen bears here near the peak. Also for those that don't know, here on the slopes of Younts Peak is the very headwaters of the Yellowstone River.
