Guess the spot

Nice job @ben cowan! The spot is an old homestead site on top of Hare Mountain. Highest spot on the Ozark highlands trail at 2380 feet.

i'd like for some one to name the peak just barely peeking over the left ridge there. but if not, start some where else.108_4208.JPG

My first impression is Alaska...Chugach Range????
I don't remember a steep pyramid in the Chugach in my visits but it does look Alaska-like. Maybe the Eagle River? The stream sure seems to be loaded with glacial till. Ben is just warming us up for his Alaska ride this summer...

no. still farther north, but much closer. this peak here is not particularly noteworthy, but was the highest in the area we backpacked. it is marked on topo.

my brothers and i were here on a two night backpack. only about thirty miles total.

So, I am guessing the north slope of Denali peak area in the park but I've never been so don't know the drainages or sub-peak names.

don't know that it'll help but here's a picture looking back down the way we had come up. but may be no one's been here. if no one gets it i'll give a better hint tomorrow.108_4173.JPG

the peak's name is descriptive of the peak it's self. Art has correctly guessed the area that it is in.
