I have no clue, but it looks to me like how I imagine the country to look on the other end (i.e. across Lake Powell) of the hole in the rock trail heading toward Bluff. But that isn't facing SW.

And I want to go there.

I'm with @Reef&Ruins... thinking looking south from that little point (Pollywog Bench if I recall) that separates the Escalante from the Colorado. Looking over the lower west side canyons of the Escalante. But that's a complete WAG.

That'd be quite the trek by foot and/or 4wd to get there! Again a sweet spot, and a place I want to go.
