Guess the spot: Utah Edition

Haven't been down there, but first thing that comes to mind is The Gulch (lower section).

I have only been in a short portion of lower Gulch. I am pulling a picture from there, up canyon one half mile upstream of the Escalante. Indeed quite similar: appears the kayenta reaches ground level, no above surface wingate in these parts. That's a hint!

Gotta be Phipps Wash, then.
That was quick! The special "cave" behind me I never knew the location of. A guide in Phipps (with clients) directed us to a secret exit out of Phipps which made for an extra treat: plus an arch, a natural bridge, and a loop with some fun steep friction. Isn't it Allen's: "run the gamut?"

Not the next "guess the spot, just another similar view of Phipps from the west. I knew there was a way over to Phipps, from studying the Copelands guiding website. We had planned on going to the arch after visiting "the cave", but showers changing to steady rain changed our plans, so never got to check out the descent to the wash.

I'll say Upper White Canyon, wait. I take that back...no water. I have yet to get up Burch...we'll go with that.

Good guess JM, but keep thinking about it......
There was water on that day, but only in the deeper holes, after recent rain.

White Canyon in Natural Bridges NM?

It sure is. Upstream from Sipapu bridge. Was tempted to just give it to JM, especially as the junction of Burch is not far upstream from this location,
but he went and second guessed himself.
Take it away, deelek!

Fair enough, I sure did second guess myself. Not Bare Ladder alcove is it? One of those places (above Sipapu) I have only explored a couple times but am darn glad it is there and cared for.

I have been quite a ways up that canyon but don't recall seeing that alcove before (or maybe from that angle).
