Guess the spot: Maps Edition

Guess I picked a really obscure spot! If we don't have any guesses in the next couple days I will pick a different spot that will be VERY obvious.

I am surprised at the number of rims in Wyoming. Never found one that matched this though.

I found it just idly scanning on caltopo, so I didn't think that it would be too hard to find. I may have picked too zoomed in of an image. There are a ton of springs along this rim, and it's not in an area that is too commonly visited. It is much closer to Nebraska than the Tetons.

First hint: It's west of Wyoming, and technically east of Montana if we use Montana's westernmost boundary.

Since no one else has made an attempt, I'll jump in.

Yellow Pine ID.

Funny, I immediately went to Atlanta, ID and then tracked up and down the Boise R drainages, then the Payette R drainages. With your first hint, I moved north.

Nice and methodical! Good work. Those little towns in the middle of the mountains in Idaho are so interesting to me.

Have at it.

Somehow I got lucky and found it right away. Stehekin and Purple Point Ranger Station at the upper end of Lake Chelan.

Very nice! Was looking at the area a few weeks ago because I've got a friend who used to live on Lake Chelan. Totally unknown area for me. Looks like it would be cool to catch the ferry in to Stehekin and do some trips from there.
