Album Campsites

A campsite from a "couple of years back" (about 23 years ago @Artemus ), when I tent camped the last time. On an island halfway between Egypt and Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea. We each had 1 red jerry tank with fresh water to wash ourselves with-for the week. Scuba diving was superb, hiking not so much, you could probably walk from one end of the island to the other in a few minutes. The food was really shitty and we were very hungry all week. We did end up doing some (illegal) fishing and we cooked a big fish one day. Probably the best fish I ever had, but again, I was hungry.
This photo was taken from the light house. The "big" island (1 of 2) had a few Egyptian "coast guard" guys living there permanently. The year after you could only visit the area on luxury 'liveaboards' and the number of dives were restricted.

From our recent family canoe trip down Meander Canyon. This is the Lower Ledges camp spot, a pretty large spot that was perfect for our group.
Nancy, Kyle and I last camped here on our 1st canoe trip here in 2006.
