A nail stuck in a tree 2 hours deep in the woods.... Always makes me wonder who and why when I'm in the middle of nowhere and stumble across stuff like this.
Nope. Just a Limenitis arthemis astyanax. It was hanging out on the mini tree like foliage -- maybe due to the roughed up right wing tip? He/She maneuvered around before I could get a butterfly-in-focus shot whilst behind the "tree."
