Uintas Conditions 2017

Did a little reconnaissance from the north a few minutes ago. The UDOT camera at Bald Mtn Pass shows the crews made it over the pass but don't know how much further. I got within view of Hayden Peak coming from the north...

*Might* be able to get through with 4wd but I didn't want to risk going any further.

More intel...

The road is plowed from the south to the Hayden Peak overlook then you hit six or more feet of snow. Looks like in places they have used the snow cat to shave it down to where the blowers can then work.

Nice work. Looks like the road will be clear soon.

Great intel! and great photo! I love the snow corridor....

Wow, late opening. I wonder how much diesel this year's process will take.

Probably going to be a while before you get over Rocky Sea Pass. lol. Still almost 4' at Trial Lake, but the weather forecast looks warm so it will probably start coming down pretty quick now.

I drove my Jordanelle this weekend and it looked to still have some room, but I wonder how much longer that will last.

It's going to melt off fast this next week. I am guessing it's going to be about the normal time we are able to get into the backcountry, maybe a week late. Trial Lake is now down to a little over 3 feet. With temperatures into the 90's this week it's not going to last long.

NOAA snowtel talked about with temps in the 80's here it would equate to about 1" of snow melt a day. That is a good gauge to determine when we can get into the backcountry.

Not sure how representative it is, but the Trial Lake snotel is losing 2"-3" a day now.

Anyone know the conditions on the North Slope Road?

Anyone know the conditions on the North Slope Road?

Whereabouts? The first section off 150 was one dry when I was up there about three weeks ago, but the snow line was not that far above it. I'd assume it's mostly clear with the exception of the highest stretches.

Just wondering if I'd be able to get to the trail heads. My brother is coming in to town next week and we're looking for options for a three day, two night trip.

Are there semi-realtime satellite images available somewhere?

Seems like I'm going to have to reconnoiter Monday after work ;)
