Uintas Conditions 2017

Any updates? I saw a picture of light snow dusting but no mention of where the picture was taken. I'm considering popping up there soon.

The Bald Mountain Pass web cam still shows some snow. I bet it will all be gone by the end of the weekend.

- Got the FJ out and rode over Bald Mountain Pass in the Uintas this evening after work, before tomorrow's storm. There was only patchy, trace snow and the aspens have begun to change. The autumnal equinox is Friday the 22nd.

Looks like winter is here in the western Uintas. This was from my friend Max's feed on instagram. They were getting knee deep turns on Murdock off Bald Mountain pass on Sunday. Crazy deep up there for September!

And there I was, thinking that I could convince my wife and two friends to do a short backpack up there on Friday afternoon... Looks like we'll be heading south.

I know this is the Wasatch not the Uintas, but damn that's deep for September! Avalanche danger, If this does not melt out and it sits and rots till real winter shows up, could be very dangerous. Too early for big dumps.

I know I'm looking south. I'd like some more hiking and camping without snow before winter shows up.
