I was just roaming the park looking for visitors committing crimes. My radar kept bringing me to a maroon Subaru. I knew something was amiss but couldn't figure out what. Unfortunately, my amazing partner was away eating alfalfa so I was unable to solve the mystery.

Perhaps you’ll label me as some sort of heretic, but I was gifted a six pack of various Chocolonely bars and I was not impressed. I find the Walmart brand of dark chocolate to be tastier.

Shame on you! First Circus Peanuts and now Chocolonelies! :D

Okay, wanted to share some pics from after surgery.

Bikini pose for @Rockskipper

Oh, and @Ugly , Katie took these shots with the camera that had water damage from my spill into Red Fork Creek. It has been repaired.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I crutched from L Street to M Street and back and it felt like a decent workout. I'll try to extend to more streets in the future.

They have me taking a bunch of pills four times a day for a week which includes some kind of mild nerve block, so I am a little groggy. I also am taking one aspirin a day for 21 days to keep blood clots at bay. I should be able to take the big bandage off that is underneath my brace after a week and replace it with some smaller waterproof bandages that I can place over the incision points around the knee. And then I can take a shower. Not really sure how that is going to work?

Anyway, keep the trip reports coming so that I'll have something to occupy my time over the next six weeks. :)

That's good to hear from you! Look at that.

I might have used one of those leg braces as a sleeping pad back when I was going for ultralight.
Phew! Glad the knee and camera are repaired and I am also glad that you could not wear a real bikini without chaffing up your armpits!
Your neighbors might be used to you, but they also might think it is just the pills...

Are you spending hours a day plugged into an ice circulator?

We all know there are five basic physical laws of the universe. One has to do with gravity, another has to do with electromagnetic waves, and two of them have to do with particle physics that I don’t understand. The fifth law is pretty simple, compared to the others, and it says that you can’t have a bikini shot without a bikini.

No ice circulator and no ice as of yet. They told me that I could ice it, but I haven't.

I'm not sure that my neighbors are used to me. The ones on the west side of our house just moved in, so they will definitely need an adjustment period. :)

Use your imagination Skipper. Make it a polka dot one, with forest green dots on a white background. Yeah, that'll look good. A kilt like that might be nice too.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I don’t know, for some reason, I see grizzly bears and bison and they all look slightly menacing even though really tiny.

Not sure I can find fabric for a kilt with those on it. :)
You need a project while your knee is healing. Hire an artist to create the look, then fly to China and find a textile factory that will turn it into the fabric you need. Get a couple of yards and tuck it into your luggage and fly to Scotland and have someone there make a kilt, then wear it on the plane home so you don't have any tariffs on it. Simple.

ETA: Or you could just find some heavy construction paper, paint some bears and grizz on it, then wrap it around yourself and take a photo doing the BCP salute and tell us you did all the above. We'd probably buy it, since you have us all hoodwinked half the time anyway.

The only way I can fly to China is if I flap my crutches fast enough.

No hoodwinking from the Scatman. I just report on what I do. :D

Alright, one week down and five to go.

I was able to take the heavy dressing off of my right leg yesterday. My knee, leg and foot are somewhat swollen. I think that I'm supposed to be icing the knee down more than I actually am at this point.

Leg_01.jpg
Have taken the heavy bandages and wrap off; now for some cleanup

Leg_02.jpg
A little better

Leg_03.jpg
A little more intrusive than the scope back in May on my left knee

Leg_04.jpg
New waterproof bandages applied so that I can supposedly take a shower.

And have know extended my crutching to J Street.

A critter along the way

Scatman in action, crossing K street on my way back home. I've discovered that crutches are quite a workout. Almost as tiring as
a @Bob hill. :) I wonder how many calories you burn in an hour using them?

Two weeks down and four more weeks to go! Well, maybe. :( The surgeon informed me that after six weeks on two crutches, I would have to spend one more week on one crutch. That was never discussed pre-surgery! I'm starting to get Hayden Valley vibes again!

I had my post-op appointment to see the surgeon last Friday and they took the sutures out and put some Steri-Strips on the incision points. The doctor also said that I could stop wearing the brace which kept my leg absolutely straight. I can also start bending my knee up to 100 degrees, though I can only get it to about 80 degrees and that is a bit painful. The doc also said that I could start riding the stationary bike, so I had to lift up the seat three levels in order to try and get my knee to do a full rotation. On Saturday, I tested it out and completed the most pathetic 1 minute spin in the history of mankind. I was going so slow that the time wouldn't register on my stationary bike. :scatman: Yesterday, I did a little better and spun for three minutes, but I had to lean to my left side in order to get complete rotations. Today was a little better as I was able to go for five minutes and the rotations felt a bit more natural, but there is still pain at the top of the stroke. I'm scheduled for my first PT session this Thursday. Can't wait for that! I can't imagine what they are going to try and make me do?

The knee is still really swollen, but the rest of my leg is slowly returning to normal over the last three days and one of the Steri-Strips has already fallen off. There is a lot of blood pooled in my foot and ankle. I forgot to ask how long that will take to clear up.

And I've spent a good portion of my day today flapping my crutches out in the front yard. @Rockskipper said that if I did so, I could fly to China, but after a full day of trying, I don't seem to be getting any lift, and I've noticed that my arms are starting to fatigue. Perhaps I am not doing it correctly? :)
