well, it didn't take long to get my first selfies here in the PNW
I went out on a hike today and enjoyed the rain and lush green forest.

Wonderful - enjoy all your new adventures!

I was supposed to hike up Mount Wire today, but since we got snow mid-week, I knew the north side of the mountain would have snow on it, so I hiked up the Avenues Twin Peaks again so as to not run into any. Just call me lazy! I did reverse my usual route, and hiked up the face of the south summit first (about 1000 feet in 3/4ths of a mile), so I can get prepared for @Bob's shenanigans in the Beartooths in about 4 months from now. :)

Luv th flower pics…but the cool weather jacket one….the snow one..and then the ice cold desert one…you’re rubbing it in! Glad ya had a good trip.

Great flowers! I was in Maryland this weekend, and the azaleas were gorgeous there, too. I love the white flower (non-azalea) that's 3rd from the top, but I've never seen it before - do you know what it's called?

A type of candytuft I believe.

Thanks - never heard of that before. I just checked and they don't seem to grow where I live. Bummer! Were you at the Japanese Garden? So lovely!

All the flower shots were taken on the campus of Lewis & Clark College in Portland. The grounds of the school are just beautiful.

Just the blizzard I had to drive through to get to Madras. We saw many cars/trucks that had slid off the road on the way up to the pass near Mount Hood, and then down the other side. I'm too old for white knuckle driving. :)
sounds like the day I was moving to Washington and had to drive across Snoqualmie Pass. It was snowing like crazy and they just opened the pass again. Going across it was snail's pace and chains were required for all cars without 4x4.
That was my welcome to the Cascades, lol. But I'm used to driving in these conditions from living in Buffalo, NY, and my winter trips to yellowstone.

Jack's Mountain today. High today around 77 here in Salt Lake.

Looks like the H.O.A. is going to have to get use to a Scatman hanging around. ;)

Back at the Subaru

So I had this song stuck in my head the entire way:

The Marshall Tucker Band's Heard it in a Love Song - so I thought I'd shar the lyrics so it can be stuck in your head too. :D

I ain't never been with a woman long enough
For my boots to get old
We've been together so long now
They both need resoled
If I ever settle down
You'd be my kind
And it's a good time for me
To head on down the line

Heard it in a love song
Heard it in a love song
Heard it in a love song
Can't be wrong

I'm the kind of man who likes to get away
Like to start dreaming about tomorrow, today
Never said that I love you, even though it's so
Where's that duffle bag of mine, it's time to go

Heard it in a love song
Heard it in a love song
Heard it in a love song
Can't be wrong

I'm gonna be leaving at the break of dawn
Wish you could come
But I don't need no woman tagging along
Always something greener on the other side of that hill
I was born a wrangler and a rounder
And I guess I always will

Heard it in a love song
Heard it in a love song
Heard it in a love song
Can't be wrong

Like the man said, "Can't be wrong." :)

So much for my thinking that candytuft doesn't grow where I live. I just noticed some in a neighbor's garden! :)
