Album The dogs of backcountrypost.com

Me with my 2 year old terrier mix Josie. We did a lot of steep scrambles in the fall and this one was taken up on Greyrock Mountain near Fort Collins, CO. She was awesome! I can't wait to get her out and do a backcountry trip sometime.

Delta on a hike last weekend. She turned one year old last month.

Skotti is ten, maybe older. On this 12 day trip I limited his food carry to four days, but he's still doing fine.

I remade his harness so the two side packs comes off easily for difficult hiking:

The new pup, Cassia. Since she came from Idaho I gave her an Idaho name (plus Bicknell just doesn't suit her :D). I think she might be Delta's cousin since her dad and Delta's mom both came from the same breeder in Rupert. My son also has Cassia's sister and I dog-sit her most weekdays while he works.

This is our rescue pup Nala; she’s about 17 months old now and we got her when she was 4 months old. Tests say she’s equal parts Siberian husky, Australian cattle dog, and pit bull.
