Scenes like this make me often homesick.
I found this shot, taken in May, from Hawai'i Volcanoes NP, shooting towards the Uwekanuna Bluffs on the edge of Halema'uma'u Crater where Hawai'i Volcanoes Observatory used to be.

I seem to get a lot of rainbows while in this particular location. Today was pretty gloomy overall, but a few splashes of light made for some spectacular scenery for brief but vivid moments.

I was in Salt Lake this past weekend for the NCAA cross country regionals. After dropping my daughter off at the airport, I headed out to Antelope Island to hike Frary and Buffalo Knob. I was out on the knob taking photos of the sunset, and little did I know my daughter took one out the window of the plane of Antelope Island. So I am in her photo on Buffalo Knob!

That is fantastic, Mike. Regarding the all white point in your avatar pic, I found one like that in Ruin Park in 1991. I pulled it out of the dirt. Loved it. Then I hid it for somebody to find sometime in the future.
