Album Rock Art and Ruins

I found my first-ever rock art in the backcountry that I didn't know ahead of time was there, this weekend. That was cool. I'll post pictures when I get home.

We actually camped immediately below these across from the confluence of the South Fork of Robber's Roost Canyon and the main fork. I sat down after returning from getting water and just looked right up at them. I just thought it was cool because I've never found rock art in the backcountry without reading about it ahead of time.

Wow, those are some great shots Smaugxxx!

Way cool on that panel, Keith. That thing is huge! I haven't found many without being tipped off but this spring has been pretty good to me.

That gives you a big rush doesn't it. I love it when I find rock art and then later confirm through the rock art associations that its not known to them either.

I'm also just terrible at seeing this stuff, so it made it that much cooler. I sometimes wonder if it's partly because I didn't grow up anywhere near the desert, but I have a hard time noticing things like rock art, pottery, and moki steps. The really weird part about it is that I have an uncannily bizarre knack for finding four-leaf clovers, so, go figure.
