Guess the spot

Hanging Canyon is awesome! It's pretty well marked on the west side of Jenny Lake. Just north of where the boat drops people off, across the third foot bridge you will see two cairns about 6' apart. There you will find what looks like a game trail heading west (UP). It's still pretty regularly used by climbers and is an unmaintained trail. Follow it up. As you pass the first 2 "lakes" you will then be bolder hopping the rest of the way to Lake of the Crags.

There is another unmarked trail that coming in further north closer to String Lake. Both get the job done.

It's a lung buster for sure gaining over 3000' very very quickly. Great views back to the valley floor from there too.

South side of Phelps lake near the rope swing?

Sweet! It might make the "done" list someday if the route stays like that!

Nope. Different state.

Just missed that Lake of the Crags post... that's on my list as well - hike was recommended by @Absarokanaut when I was up there last year.

@Scott Chandler - The mountains and small stones along the shore make me think that is in Glacier NP somewhere, could be wrong of course.

I'm going to guess the Bighorns, but I have minimal knowledge of them as I've only driven through once. So here's a wild guess. Romeo Lake.

Getting closer now, definitely visited this lake while I worked in the Bighorns but it's not in that area.

San Rafael River, at the mouth of the unnamed canyon between Virgin Spring Canyon and Cane Wash, looking north.
Correct! And impressively accurate. I guess if anyone would know it, it's you. We were up above trying to see if we could get to the top of a point out there. Couldn't find a safe route.
