Guess the spot

This is a complete SWAG based on the coloration of the rocks... is it in the Iron Mountain area?

Is it on the Living Room trail up by the U? I remember finding some fort-like things built up there that looked like that.

EDIT: I take it back. The terrain and the trees don't look right to be up in the area I mentioned.

Well it looks like the rock around Red Baldy in south LCC but can't ID the lake or the forts.

@Artemus - You're within 4 miles as the crow flies. If the string of trees wasn't there you just might just be able to catch a glimpse of a very popular lake.

I might give this one up later today and pass the torch

Haha. It's a toughie for sure. It does look like it's Red Baldy ish. Is it maybe something in the AF Twin Peak area? The color of the rock looks vaguely familiar. I'm going to sick my friend on this and see if he can sniff it out. He's a Wasatch peak bagging fool and remembers peaks and such... =)

It's looking like one of the Salt Lake Twin Peaks (back left of photo) taken from somewhere near Sundial Peak/Lake Blanche area. Not sure exactly where those rings of rock are.

@Mike K You're right there. Exact location is 40.599078, -111.675698. Took this on a day hike last fall - I climbed up the north ridge of Superior via Lake Blanche. Then hiked down to Oktoberfest for some beers. This is remnants of some old mine structure/hut up there - probably part of the Regulator Johnson mine which is opposite on the Mineral Fork side of the ridge

Your turn!

Awesome. Funny story, when I FIRST looked at the picture, Regulator Johnson actually popped into my head!!! (I've been up in that general area in the spring when we bagged Monte Cristo). Everything was covered in snow though. Maybe that's why I was thrown. With the help of a friend and Google Earth, we were finally able to guess the area. Although, we weren't 100% certain. I'll post a pic shortly...
