Guess the spot: Utah Edition

I was in fortymile years ago, kinda looks like your pic.

Not Fortymile.

Here's the pic again since we're on a new page:

Is this looking down into Canyonlands from Cathedral Butte?

Whoops, didn't see NIck's reply, same place.

AKA Big Pocket Overlook. I just might find myself there with the next wave of storms. Do not go there now. Since I'm not there it is storming.

If I were there, it would be flash flooding with a vengeance. I dunno, maybe it is. Somebody should go check it out.

Davis Gulch? :)

Oops didn't see someone already guessed Davis Gulch.

While it is definitely looking over BIg Pocket on maps I thought the point I was at was Cathedral Point? the names might be interchangable though.

I've never heard it called anything except Cathedral, but then, I've been told I don't always listen like I should.

I'm gonna start calling it Moab so everyone will go there instead.
I lived in Utah for ~4 years before actually making it to all five of the National Parks. I always had to suppress a smile when people told me how much I was missing - I was getting out 50 nights a year and seeing amazing and beautiful things. And I was experiencing a quietness, a remoteness that they'd never even taste standing in line for the chains on Angels Landing.

Incidentally, I finally made it to Zion proper over Memorial Day while hiking the Trans Zion route. Took one look at Angels Landing and the mass of humanity displaying all its worst tendencies, and scampered out of there as quick as I could. I still haven't done Angels Landing, and it's not because I'm scared of heights

Anyways, back to your regularly scheduled posting. :)
