What an awesome experience that must have been! I've only ever seen it from the vantage point in the photo. Would be awesome to be on top (and on the sides!).That's it! We had just climbed it the day before.
You're in the neighborhood, but that isn't quite it. If you zoom in on the photo, you'll see a feature jutting into the lake that I think may have something to do with the lake's name but also to do with a prominent feature about a mile away.Looks like the eastern Lily Lake along the Notch Trail.

Haha dang, that is a perfect match for the hints I gave, but that's not it. A bit farther east and a tad north of there.Cliff Lake?
Clyde and the Notch?I should've known people here avoid the popular spots! Haha. Here's the "back" side of the feature that the lake shares a name with--the dip in the ridgeline.
And to be clear, the lake in this photo is not the same lake as in the photo above. But I guess if you can name this lake, the dip, or the lake above, I'll give it to you.

I figured that one was too easy.Island Lake along the Lakes Country Trail in the Uintas?
No kidding? From that old "Govt trail". The kind of a basin on the Butte's west side? Rope for a rappel required? That's it! We had just climbed it the day before.
