The Dinwoody Lakes on the east side of the Winds. Another area I'd really like to go see.

Yep! That went quickly. The river gorge upstream from there is so amazingly beautiful in the satellite imagery. This may be one of the most gorgeous areas I've seen. The Dinwoody Lakes on the east side of the Winds. Another area I'd really like to go see.
That's it, Dennis. Oh, I guess you knew thatThat'd be the Wickiup in the central Swell. In 2005 I almost made it to the top--came to within maybe a dozen feet and got sketched out by the crumbly rock on the last ledge.

Awesome! I've scoured that general area on the Google Earth, particularly the Bull Lake Creek drainage, assessing the feasibility of a route through there. The color of the water contrasted with the brown color of the unforested land is a telltale sign!Yep! That went quickly. That spot you marked looks beautiful. Did you access it from the Dinwoody trail?
I've seen video of guys descending the creek in whitewater kayaks. Looks like an absolutely crazy canyon. Very narrow in places. I guess I meant more of a walk up the hills just to the north of it. On Caltopo, its marked as "Yellow Trail". Have you been around there? You don't want to walk through Bull Lake... We have to talk, J. We have to talk...
Right on! Have at it.Black Elk Peak / Harney Peak
Look at all those switchbacks!!
That looks pretty cool, J. I may have to go there. What kind of rock? Pics look neat at Mtn Project.Right on! Have at it.
I believe it's granite. I just did a little search and found that the main rock in the area is called Harney Peak Granite, so my guess is that that's what it's made of. And I've never actually been to the top Just been in the general area driving around and doing tourist things. Stayed nearby in Hill City. It's a great walk from what I hear! That looks pretty cool, J. I may have to go there. What kind of rock? Pics look neat at Mtn Project.
That's the Tenaya Creek valley in Yosemite ... the peak near the southern end of the map is Half Dome.

The Bighorn Crags. Skyhigh Lake, Twin Cove Lakes, Turquoise Lake...I'm intrigued as heck by the trail heading north out of that valley now.
Here's a cool area:
