I thought maybe the country on the map referred to Ernie's Country, but my iPhone screen is too small to check the maps.

The USGS 7.5' map has the area identified as Sinbad Country - a name I wasn't familiar with for that area.

Thats interesting. Sinbad makes me think of the Head of Sinbad area to the NW of there. Not exactly close by, but I guess looking at the satellite, that whole open area from the reef north to Head of Sinbad may be considered Sinbad Country. The head is at the top of it, after all. Haha.

That's Stratton Mountain in Vermont. While I didn't know it until now, it was on Stratton Mountain that the concept for both the Long Trail and AT were conceived:
