Might be a new record for speedy reply. You’re up!Redfish Lake
I’ve been thinking about heading up to the Sawtooths to get out of the heat. Having never been to Redfish Lake, do you know if it’s pretty commercial or not? Any thoughts on how crowded it might be?Might be a new record for speedy reply. You’re up!
I've never been to Redfish, but my guess is that it will be pretty crowded based on what I've seen and heard from people who have been there over the past few years. I think it's a pretty popular spot, with the lodge being right there on the lake and being a popular access point for backpackers. There are other lakes nearby like Pettit (which I actually have been to) and Alturas that aren't as developed though. You could just use Redfish as a place to grab dinner one night or something.I’ve been thinking about heading up to the Sawtooths to get out of the heat. I must be looking at the wrong Bear's Tooth? The posted map doesn't look like the Bear's Tooth at 45°03.752', -109°33.755'Bears Tooth
You are right, this Bear's Tooth is in the Winds, north of Gannett Peak a few miles.I must be looking at the wrong Bear's Tooth? The posted map doesn't look like the Bear's Tooth at 45°03.752', -109°33.755'
Thanks - that makes much more sense! You are right, this Bear's Tooth is in the Winds, north of Gannett Peak a few miles.
Correct!Lake Wyodaho and the Bechler River
There isn't a ton of stuff there but at the outlet end of the lake is a large lodge and business and it is very busy there. Kind of a zoo in mid-season. It is a beautiful place. If you go, rent a ride to the other end and day hike or backpack up the drainage into the mountains from there. Totally fun and scenic.I’ve been thinking about heading up to the Sawtooths to get out of the heat. Having never been to Redfish Lake, do you know if it’s pretty commercial or not? Guess I'll get things going again. Name the prominent features dominating the middle of the map.
You got it! You're up.Upheaval Dome in Canyonlands
