Ben do you know the etymology of that name? it to me sounds similar to the Spanish for "we pray" or "let's pray", but that seems kind of random...

it does sound quite spanish as soon as you say that. but a quick google search tells me it's latin. turns out it's the genus of mountain goats.
 
According to several sources it is from the Greek oros - mountain and amnos - lamb. it is not a true goat (Capridae family) so it is the only living member of the Oreamnos genus. Sorry for geeking out.
