Guess the spot: Maps Edition

Some people might even say the other feature visible from here was ultra prominent.

Outdoors? Dunno, I would have expected him to have this by now. I expected some one to have it by now.
It feels like only us three our playing now. Liz and I need a really good hint, and soon, I head to Jellystone for a long weekend in the morning....

Fair.
Do you guys know what an ultra prominent peak is? It's a technical definition for a peak with at least 5,000' of topographical prominence, and there aren't a lot of them. Only 1500 some world wide.

So let's review what we know. Or may be just a little more than you know. This mythically named spot is the high point in a sub range just across the road from an ultra prominent peak. In a national park, in the lower 48.

There are only 58 ultras in the lower 48. And I'm sure far fewer in national parks. Good luck.

Ooh Ooh, good hint! I do remember prominence definitions but never heard of ultra ones. Cool. Off to distraction learning about prominences and the work I am supposed to be doing.... Thanks.

I've never heard of ultra prominence. Art, the pressure's on, as in about two hours I head out for a remote spot with no Internet (down by Torrey). Good luck, good buddy, and don't forget to hit Ben up for that T-shirt. And Ben, thanks for the map fun I spent looking at Alaskan topography. Man, I never realized just how big that state really is.

OK, back from distraction and DANG I am out of time - off to jellystone... But here are some fruits of my labor that can help LIz or whomever. Good puzzle, thanks Ben!

Here is the list of the 5,000' prominences kindly assembled by peakbagger:
http://peakbagger.com/list.aspx?lid=41203

I started listing the national park ones but ran out of steam trying to find mythically named peaks across the road in a sub-range from these.

For what it's worth, national park 5000' prominences:

Mt Rainier
Mt Adams, maybe
Wheeler Peak
Grand Teton

I may have missed one or two. It was intriguing to me how many I have been on top of and also how many there are in Utah. If I was a peakbagger I would be going crazy now.
