Guess the Spot: Eastern US Edition

Is this thread officially dead? :-(

For those who might stumble on it later, JDWalters' photo was taken from the Fred W. Symmes Chapel at YMCA Camp Greenville SC. I've never been there myself, but I imagine the view is probably of either Jones Gap or Caesars Head State Parks.

Let's wake up this thread with an easy one (maybe) :)

I figured the canon would help a bit :)

Looks like @zionsky got is a minute before @Janice did, but first one to post a new pic wins :)

Thanks, @wsp_scott. Not sure if there's enough information here for anyone to guess. I'll give a clue if necessary...66194626_10219610105792860_5375733723696201728_o.jpg

Sleeping Bear Dunes national lakeshore
Yes! Have you been there? I took that photo after joyfully going down, before the long, slow, crawling-on-hands-and-knees ascent. It's Lake Michigan @zionsky and here's another photo a little while later, when I was about halfway back up. South Manitou Island is off in the distance. You're up @Reef&Ruins !65970760_10219610274117068_3504805390707589120_o.jpg

I think so too ... although we did see a similar spot at Picture Rocks. But I think the island in the background leads me to think Sleeping Bear Dunes.
At Pictured Rocks there's also a gigantic dune you can run down called the Log Slide because they used to slide logs down to ships waiting in Lake Superior. Here's a picture from the top of that.

@Janice I lived in the midwest for a while, before I moved out west. So yes I have been to both Sleeping Bear Dunes and Pictured Rocks, although I don't recall seeing the area that you guys have posted for Pictured Rocks. I really love sand dunes, so where ever I go if there are dunes nearby I try to visit. Unfortunately I have not been back to the Eastern US much since the digital camera age began so I am not sure I have a photo to post. Let me take a look and see what I can find.
